Preparing for the 2012 SoCal Friendship Walk- April 21st, 2012

Hi Everyone –

First the great news!!  Thanks to all of you and your hard work, we’ve crossed the $30,000 marker and we can see the $40,000 goal from here.  Don’t be afraid to bring those last minute donations – checks, cash and credit card – to the Walk on Saturday.  We can mark them down and give your team credit right on the spot. 

NOW, for Saturday – we’ve also put this information on the Walk site page:  www.bestbuddiescalifornia.org/socalwalk - under Event Information. 

When we moved the site, we got new parking instructions which are below.  Also, we’re cashing in on the food truck craze, offering great beverages and food which are for sale.  Both food trucks are donating a portion of the sales proceeds back to Best Buddies CA, which will go to the Walk.

Come hungry! Beverages and food will be provided by food trucks Rancho A Go Go as well as PerKup Coffee and Tea Co. Part of the proceeds will come back to Best Buddies California (both take credit cards as well as cash)

Parking: There are three main parking locations, one right off of Pine, Shoreline Village Dr., and a bigger parking structure near the Aquarium (Shoreline and Chestnut). ALL ACCEPT CASH ONLY.

Check in:  we’ll be open for check in starting at 8:00 am.  Be there or be square, and our wonderful volunteers will check you in.  We’re starting the pre-walk program at 9:00 am.

It’s going up to 80 degrees on Saturday, so layer your clothing, wear a hat and bring some sun screen.  You’ll be given water before you start the walk.
